The time I got hot and had to change: Cardio, Core and Strength

On Friday we did this thin which was a combination of cardio, core and strength. Our group had 4 people so me and Yogita decided to go together. We had to weight sets, a light set and a heavier set. I decided to try and alternate between weights so that it would be a fair workout for both of us. My favorite thing would have to be core because I'm good at it, I like to feel the burn. During cardio I ran and incorporated dance moves for my enjoyment and because I like to pretend that life is a broadway show (or Bollywood movie). I suck most at weight lifting, someday I hope I will like it more but I never enjoy it for some reason. I hope I can change that. I kind of tolerate it which isn't fun. Overall I felt good and disgusting to the point where I had to change my shirt because I was a human oven. Good times.

The time it was a good day: Locomotion

Last fitness we did locomotion in the gym. I liked how the senior classes had their own sides so there was not much rush and we don't end up bumping into each other. I have stated this before, I love locomotion with a passion. I don't know if its the music, the witty name (locomotion is how animals move in biology and in PE it is us moving in different ways) or the hilarious movements we do. It gets this girl going. I feel like a majestic ballerina or something while skipping across the floor. The whole time I was fighting to continue going throughout the whole time. I did the movements for the whole time periods. After I was drenched in sweat and my face was throbbing. I was thinking mentally to myself in 
Ice Cube's  voice "Today was a good day".

The time I was Baba Ramdev (a famous yoga dude): Sunlight Yoga

Last we Thursday we did yoga in the gleaming sunlight was on our bodies and it felt amazing. Even for a brown girl like me who is normally afraid of sunlight. This was a really relaxing yoga routine and it also had moments of strength and stretching. I learned that I am apparently flexible with this cow face yoga movie. Like girl I never knew I could do a yoga move at all let alone one called cow face! 
 

The time I functioned with 3 hours of sleep: Real Intense Relays

A few fitnesses ago, it was a beautiful day and we all decided to go out and do relays. I've never done these so called relays before so I was intrigued. I changed into my gym strip and we were on our way. We got into our groups and we had to run the whole lap and then pass on the bean bag to the other person. I decided that whatever it was I was going to force myself to run the whole entire thing. I don't know if its visible but the pond is so enormous in perimeter. Running along that thing was excruciating. Because of my lack of sleep I thought I was going to pass out. I try to get enough sleep ever since this experience. After you have to learn things the hard way in life. Anyways, I ended up running all my laps until the very end which I was so proud of. I liked relays and I look forward to doing then again in future fitnesses.

The time I became a Bhangra captain, self consciously: Dance Week

A few days ago we did dance for be whole entire week. I participated in each thing and tried to try new things. The only new thing for me was the Bhangra routine which a usual is really upbeat and energetic. Even though I'm brown I still can't do performance style Bhangra, at parties we just shimmy with each other. I tried to do all the steps with the same amount of energy as the teachers. I also found the hip hop routine really interesting as they also change that every year. I felt like i actually learned the dance which made me happy. For the other dances we basically do the same thing so after doing them for 3 years straight I'm a master at the Macarena, the electric slide, line dancing and the rest.
